Inspiration

Nowadays most people see a blockchain having negative effect to our environment. We want to show that blockchain can be used to help saving and restoring our environment. And we come up with fun and exciting project where players will have fun playing game and helping our environment.

What it does

Ecoland is a metaverse - we like to call it Ecoverse - with real life impact. In Ecoverse there will diffrent kinds of games with P2E mechanics, aiming tp restore our environment and helping reducing CO2 offset . It is a RPG farming-like game where players plant NFTrees(Tree NFT) and taking care of them by providing water, protecting from disasters such as drought, fire. By performing certain actions players are being rewarded with tokens. In order to plant a NFTrees, players need to purchase/mint a NFT tree. And in smart contract % from price of NFT is being transferred directly to NGO. We have partnered with OneTreePlanted(https://onetreeplanted.org/) NGO which will be helping us planting trees in real world. Also there will be educational content about blockchain as well. So players will have opportunity to learn. We choose Polygon as blockchain for our game because it is carbon neutral and lower gas fees and reach community. So by playing game, you plant trees in real world and making real life impact. Planting a tree is having huge impact in our environment. We think gamification is a good solution because: - Users will have fun time while making donations - Users will learn about blockchain

How we built it

Game is built with C# in Unity. Smart contracts built with Solidity. Used Chainlink oracles for price feed

We have learned a lot about Project management. How the project structured, what steps needs to be taken to make a good project. Also team work

What's next for Ecoland

We will be continuing to work further on Ecoland and improve it. We want to apply for grants and VC investors to make it a start-up. We have a roadmap until 2025 with more features and games are coming. Winning this hackathon will give us boost. Also looking forward to meet Polygon team and save our environment together
