Inspiration
We focused on the Deep Sea Research track. We conducted a survey with 18 participants using a combination of descriptive and Likert scale questions to validate our hypotheses. We were inspired by sustainability apps that bring communities together as well as applications with AI and AR features like AI Chatbots, Google AR, Pokémon Go
What it does
A local sustainability connecter app that connects neighborhoods to eco-initiatives and encourages hyperlocal environmental action and community empowerment. (backed by research!!)
How we built it
Figma <3, ChatGPT and Gemini for initial idea generation
Challenges we ran into
- We understand a sufficient pool couldn’t be selected for conducting user research, due to time constraint.
- Its kind of hard to predict what questions would give the most valuable insights. Wish we had more time.
- Should have planned this sooner
- wish user research feedback started before even the planning phase
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Conducted User research to back up our design decisions
- Most pages are completely prototyped, interactive, scrollable, and
- For a two-person team it looks decently polished
What we learned
Start planning earlier, and bring a sleeping bag next time
What's next for EcoHood
Based on user research and user testing we would see if each feature we implemented is engaging, functional, and actually useful to the user
Completing the design of all pages.
Developing the actual model with help from Github Copilot AI.
