New Beginnings
With a vague idea in mind of sustainability we focused on how to gamify sustainable practices i.e. recycling, taking public transit, etc. We came up with the idea of having a tamagotchi style game that rewards the user for each sustainable practice they do.
The Game
Ecogachi, our game, is a fun way to go about practicing sustainability. It works by taking in qr codes associated with eco friendly practices and rewards you by feeding your ecogachi and leveling them up. You can also do a quiz battle where you'll do a quiz on VCUs and UNs sustainability goals being rewarded for each question right.
The Website
Our game is hosted by our website which includes daily goals with and extra rewards for your ecogachi. It hosts various features such as a meal scanner which rewards you for sustainable eating practices (i.e. vegetarian/vegan meals).
Challenges
Typical for anything we had difficulty integrating all of our modules together. Along with some edge cases that arose after testing the full product.
