  We made sure to put in the work to make EcoGo completely mobile friendly, so that it is accessible to all users.

Inspiration

EcoGo is the nature's best friend. Our product aims to reduce pollution, decrease carbon emission, and make the world a healthier and happier place by gamifying sustainability. EcoGo tracks an individual's Eco-Score to provide the most accurate information on one's contribution to making the Earth more sustainable. We make the process of helping the Earth an interactive, plus-plus game. The theory behind this idea is that through competition people will be incentivized to help the Earth. We recognize that every human has potential to help sustain the Earth. If even one person joins, that is an accomplishment because one-by-one we can soon involve all 7 billion people living on this Earth.

What it does

EcoGo keeps a score of the user's contributions to the environment in order to gamify environmental contribution, and allows users to organize cleanups and community volunteering efforts to help contribute to the environment. Group volunteering helps foster a sense of community, and our points system along with our daily missions encourages the user to adopt more sustainable habits in the form of a game.

How we built it

In order to build the website, we worked together through github in order to make sure we each had access to each other's work. While Pranav worked on the frontend using tailwind and svelte components, Dhruv worked on making a functional API and integrating it with a sqlite database,

Challenges we ran into

Along the way, we struggled with integrating some of our database features with our frontend using the sveltekit system, as it was our first time using it. However, we got through it and were able to make a great final product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was our first time utilizing SvelteKit, so we are proud that we were able to learn it and create a full finished project within just 36 hours. We are especially proud of the fact that we were able to make the website so intuitive and beautiful.

What we learned

We learned about how to use Sveltekit and properly integrate it with a database.

What's next for EcoGo

In the future, we hope to expand EcoGo's functionality, improving upon the points system to provide a more accurate reflection of one's contribution to the environment. Through a more varied set of daily tasks, we can form good habits in the user that will contribute to the overall health of the planet.
