🎯 Inspiration

We were inspired by a simple question: What if saving the planet felt like a game? While many people want to live more sustainably, they often lack daily motivation. That’s where Yashnar comes in — a gamified platform that turns eco-friendly habits into fun, trackable missions.

Our goal: make climate action exciting, personal, and rewarding.

🎮 What We Built

Yashnar is an MVP-stage EcoGame where users complete real-world environmental challenges — such as recycling, reducing waste, or planting trees — and earn points, badges, and rewards.

Core features:

  • 🎯 Weekly eco-challenges
  • 📸 Mission proof uploads (photo/video)
  • 🏅 Progress tracking and badges
  • 👥 Leaderboards and community goals
  • 🎁 Reward system (discounts, merch, shout-outs)

🛠️ How We Built It

We used a no-code/low-code stack to move fast and iterate:

  • Bolt.new: For quickly building the frontend with prompt-based UI generation
  • Supabase: As our backend to manage users, challenges, and uploads

This stack helped us validate our concept rapidly without being slowed down by infrastructure work.

🚧 Challenges We Faced

  • Designing challenges that are fun but measurable
  • Preventing spam/fake submissions
  • Balancing gamification with real impact
  • Creating an accessible experience for both tech-savvy and casual users

🌍 What We Learned

  • Gamification can truly drive positive behavior
  • Bolt + Supabase is a powerful combo for building MVPs fast
  • Community-building is just as important as tech
  • Even small actions, when repeated, create real environmental change

Built With

  • bolt
  • netlify
