Food waste is one of the largest yet most preventable contributors to environmental damage, financial loss, and food insecurity. Across schools, restaurants, hotels, residential communities, and community centers, millions of meals are discarded every day due to poor demand forecasting, overproduction, and lack of actionable insights.

What it does

EcoFeast: AI platform developed & powered by Gemini that predicts food waste and delivers next-day actions to stop waste before it happens across schools, restaurants, communities using AI Governance.

How we built it

EcoFeast was built completely from scratch using Google Gemini AI Studio. From synthetic data creation to backend logic, code generation through chat instructions, iterative code modifications, and even building the front-end application—every step was powered by Gemini. This allowed us to focus entirely on solving a problem for the greater good of society: predicting and preventing food waste. While we concentrated on the use case, user experience, and impact, Google Gemini handled the technical complexity, enabling us to go from idea to a working, user-friendly app in just one day. EcoFeast demonstrates how Gemini can accelerate responsible innovation—turning purpose-driven ideas into real, scalable solutions at unprecedented speed.
