Inspiration

Our project, EcoChain, was born from a shared passion for environmental sustainability and a deep concern about the global plastic crisis. Witnessing the devastating impact of plastics on our oceans, ecosystems, and wildlife, particularly in our own country, we knew that technology could play a pivotal role in finding solutions.

What it does

EcoChain is a blockchain-powered platform designed to trace the entire lifecycle of plastic products, promoting responsible plastic use and recycling. It enables users to scan product barcodes, access detailed information about the product's origin, track its journey, and verify its environmental claims.

How we built it

We built a prototype using Figma

Challenges we ran into

User-Centric Design: Ensuring that our Figma prototype truly reflects a user-friendly and intuitive interface was a continuous challenge, requiring iterations and refinements.

Visualizing Functionality: Conveying the full functionality of the PlastiTrace concept within the limitations of a prototype was both a challenge and an opportunity for creative problem-solving.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Blockchain Integration: Successfully integrating the concept of blockchain technology to record and verify plastic transactions, enhancing transparency.

What we learned

Through the development of EcoChain, we learned the potential of blockchain to drive positive environmental change. We discovered the importance of collaboration and user engagement in promoting sustainable practices.
