Inspiration

My inspiration was from the theme green energy, and I thought of how people like me don't even know how much energy I use in a day.

What it does

It asks you questions, and then gives you your energy usage and compares it to your region.

How we built it

I used Streamlit and Python for the coding and environment. I got most of the data in the survey/questions from searching things up, and the comparing to regions is from an API.

Challenges we ran into

It was hard to find and API that worked, some were old and you couldn't used them, and some were expensive. I also was working on my computer's terminal thing at first, because my vscode was broken, which made "debugging" difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

My first app and hackathon!

What we learned

I learned how to connect APIs to apps and what Streamlit is.

What's next for EcoCalculator

I could tell people how they can decrease the amount of energy they're using, make API integration better by adding more regions. I could also make a sister app called WaterCalculator to calculate the amount of water people use in a day.
