Inspiration

The outbreak of Covid-19 has impacted our lives drastically. Many businesses have switched online, and there is an increase in demand for delivery services.

For current deliveries, a driver may deliver to different locations all over the city in 1 hr timeslots.

To reduce carbon footprint, we are building an app to encourage people living in the same household/ building/ street to order delivery on the same day.

What it does

Features

Users can register/ sign-in after clicking the chrome extension icon
Users input their full name, email and set a password to register
During the onboarding process, they can choose to (1) enable GPS (2) input zip code (3) input address manually for the delivery location, input their contact number, and add a credit card
On the home page, users can (1) join a purchase call (2) filter/ sort purchase calls according to location radius/ order due/ date of delivery/ company or supermarket, and (3) start a new call
When clicking on an order, the user can view the order details such as number of people joining the call, location radius, delivery date and approximate time, whether the minimum order limit is satisfied
After user press join call, they will be redirected to the merchandiser's website to place an order
Similarly, they can start a purchase call. After placing an order, the purchase call will appear on the home page

Challenges we ran into

Our initial plan was to develop a mobile app. Later we noticed a web app would be more suitable as that will increase coverage. Therefore we have switched to make a chrome extension.
