π± Inspiration
As a solo developer passionate about sustainability and technology, I was inspired to create Eco Travel Planner to help travelers make safer, eco-conscious decisions. With climate change affecting travel conditions more than ever, I wanted to build a tool that promotes awareness of both real-time weather and environmental impact.
π¦οΈ What It Does
Eco Travel Planner is a responsive web application that allows users to:
Search any city and view current weather conditions
Get UV index and sun protection tips
Receive alerts for extreme weather
Get sustainable travel suggestions to reduce environmental impact
π οΈ How I Built It
Frontend Framework: Next.js
Styling: Tailwind CSS
API Integration: OpenWeatherMap API for real-time weather and UV data
Hosting: Netlify
Version Control: GitHub
𧩠Challenges I Ran Into
Integrating and managing asynchronous API responses
Designing a clean and accessible interface alone
Handling weather data and UV index in a meaningful way
Optimizing Next.js deployment on Netlify without backend support
π Accomplishments Iβm Proud Of
Building and deploying a full project independently
Integrating live weather + UV index with real user value
Learning to manage a full development cycle solo β from design to deployment
π What I Learned
