Eco Trace AI raises awareness of AI’s environmental impact through a quiz revealing your “AI personality” and highlighting how AI usage affects energy and water consumption in an engaging, simple way.
Inspiration: We were inspired by the layout of personality quizzes from MBTI. Through a personalized quiz, users can explore how their AI interactions contribute to energy and water consumption, and gain valuable insight on the environmental costs of AI technologies.
What it does: Eco Trace AI is an innovative platform that combines environmental awareness with personalized understanding into AI usage. Our website offers an engaging quiz that identifies how individuals interact with AI and uncovers their “AI personality.”
How we built it: We built Eco Trace AI through the diverse strengths of each group member, such as creativity, complex data visuals, and problem-solving to bring the project to life. Coding languages such as Html, CSS, and Javascript were implemented for building the front-end interface, including quiz logic and the integration of relevant environmental data. Our collaboration allowed us to create a polished, informative, and impactful platform that educates users on the environmental footprint of AI.
Challenges we ran into: One of the biggest challenges we faces was translating complex statistics about AI's environmental impact into an engaging and user-friendly format. On the coding side, one of the main challenges was building a flexible and easy-to-use platform that could support the interactive quiz functionality and clearly show the environmental impact of AI.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We're proud of creating a tool that combines education with engagement, encouraging users to reflect on their AI habits and their broader environmental impact.
