Inspiration
The inspiration behind Eco-Rewards was the desire to motivate individuals to make eco-friendly choices by providing them with tangible incentives and fostering a sense of community.
What it does
Eco-Rewards allows users to track their daily carbon footprint, compare statistics with friends, and earn rewards based on their eco-friendly choices. The platform integrates gamification elements to make sustainability engaging and fun.
How we built it
For now, we only built a website using React.js, Figma, and Github that introduces the basic functionalities of our app.
Challenges we ran into
We didn't have much experience in web development, so this is a rich learning process for all of us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully figured out how to use React.js to create our demo website, and we also leverage the functions of Figma to create aesthetic App UI templates.
What we learned
Through the development of Eco-Rewards, we learned the importance of designing for user motivation, incorporating social elements into sustainability initiatives, and addressing technical complexities while maintaining a user-friendly interface.
What's next for Eco-Rewards
In the future, we want to build Eco-Rewards mobile app using a combination of robust backend systems, intuitive user interfaces, and advanced data analytics. The development will involve leveraging modern technologies, such as cloud infrastructure and machine learning algorithms, to accurately measure and reward sustainable actions.
