Climate responsibility often seems like something only large companies can act on — those with sustainability teams, consultants, and complex tools. But most businesses aren’t like that. Small and medium-sized businesses make up most of the global economy, and many of them care — they just lack the time, budget, or expertise to begin.

What It Does
EcoPilot helps small businesses understand their carbon footprint and take practical steps to reduce it.

With EcoPilot, a business can:
• Upload or enter basic activity data
• View estimated emissions in a simple dashboard
• Receive prioritized recommendations for low-effort improvements
• Ask an AI-powered chatbot questions about their carbon data

It’s a friendly and accessible starting point for climate action — without complexity or overwhelm.

How We Built It
EcoPilot is a lightweight web app designed for clarity and ease of use. It includes:
• A guided onboarding form to understand operations
• A dashboard visualizing estimated emissions using standard conversion factors
• A recommendation engine based on common business scenarios
• A reporting feature that generates a shareable summary

Challenges We Faced
• Balancing detail: too much is overwhelming, too little becomes meaningless
• Getting AI to interpret business activity consistently was harder than expected
