Inspiration
I have always been interested in environmental justice and so I wanted to create a dashboard that could better illustrate the problem because it may be less obvious as it is related to inequitable access to a good environment.
What it does
Allows people to visualize the problem better and can be a foundation for their own data exploration and visualization projects.
How we built it
I used Google Sheets to organize the data and Tableau to make the maps and the dashboard. I didn't really code.
Challenges we ran into
Finding quality data that was related to the topic, consolidating data from different sources, overlaying maps, and making it so that users could toggle between maps.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Overcoming all those challenges!
What we learned
I learned a lot more about data exploration, geospatial maps, and using Tableau!
What's next for Eco-Equality Starter Kit
I could only do a few variables due to time constraints, so I want to be able to manipulate more variables to see more patterns. Also, there are some display issues that could be improved on, like adjusting the dimension to fit the user's screen.
Built With
