Inspiration## Inspiration
We noticed that problems like improper waste disposal, water wastage, and air pollution are common, but citizens often don't have an easy way to report them. This inspired us to create EcoAlert, a platform that connects citizens with the people responsible for addressing environmental issues.
How We Built It
EcoAlert is a web application built using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. Citizens can report an environmental issue by selecting its category, adding a description, uploading a photo, and providing its location. Dashboards help organize and monitor these reports.
What We Learned
We learned how to turn a real-world problem into a practical web solution, design user-friendly interfaces, work with modern web technologies, and collaborate effectively under hackathon time constraints.
Challenges
Our main challenges were designing a simple reporting process, debugging Next.js/React issues, and deciding which features were most important to build within the limited hackathon time.
Future Plans
We plan to add AI-based image classification, map-based reporting, report prioritization, notificatio
What it does
EcoAlert allows citizens to report environmental problems such as waste, water wastage, and air pollution. Users can add a category, description, photo, and location to their report. The reports are organized through dashboards, helping authorities identify and manage environmental issues more efficientl
