Inspiration

To really explain the inspiration for Eclipse Pad, all we need to do is look at the current landscape. Eclipse Pad is an IDO launchpad, and the launchpads in the space have up until now been built fairly unsustainably, and most birthed in the peak of the bull market.

The essence of this model has huge potential but has been until now been done fairly poorly, the real driver for this project came out of frustration for the little guy, and the want to create a model that is long-lasting, scaleable and sustainable.

Originally Eclipse Pad was being built on Terra prior to the crash, and there was a main player there who we did not agree with many of the ways that things were done, including cutting corners and bending ethics for fast wins (in hindsight, this is fairly common across the whole launchpad space) and they ended up alienating much of their community in the process.

This frustration birthed the driver and inspiration for a better way.

What it does

Now what you are seeing on testnet is only a snippet of what Eclipse Pad is capable of. We found out about the hackathon with a week to spare, but fortunately, we were able to adapt and spin up the EVM code functionality we had built.

Eclipse Pad is the first IDO launchpad for the Cosmos ecosystems and allows for users to participate in Pre-sale IDO rounds, and for projects to raise capital, bootstrap their initial customer base and distribute their tokens into the market.

We have built the flows for whitelisting, participation in IDO sales, and claiming tokens with a vesting schedule. We have also built out one-click swaps, staking, and farming of the launchpad token. This is the functionality we have uploaded to the Evmos testnet, with a cutting-edge UI to come.

We also have NFT platform integrations on the way as well as functions for leverage IDOs.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we would say was the collapse of the Terra/Luna ecosystem, this meant that we needed to adapt and migrate all code and ideas to the Cosmos Ecosystem. It also wiped out a large chunk of the treasury and the development of Eclipse Pad was kept afloat by an ecosystem grant.

But this ended up being a silver lining, with the time and desire to further improve the model and reposition the platform and vision to be bigger and better.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Surviving the Terra crash and coming back from it strong than ever was definitely one, if that counts as an accomplishment. But we would say that the team we have put together, how far advanced the UI/UX, branding, and the platform functionality and quality has come is quite a feat.

What we learned

We learnt that all though tech and functionality is very important, there is so much that goes into building a large vision like this one. Launchpads take a lot of modelling, attention to details, and flows on UI/UX, relationships, community, and Business Development.

What's next for Eclipse Pad

There is so much! From a tech perspective: we keep building. With new staking, tokenomics models, platform utility NFT integrations, leverage IDOs, one-click onboarding, outposts on multiple chains, aswell as eventually out own dapp chain ecosystem of launch related products.

From the other pieces: funding rounds, community building, launch and launching top tier projects.

There is a lot to be excited about and we are still so early!
