Inspiration

Eclipse Protocol was born from the fusion of my love for cinematic storytelling and my fascination with existential themes of evolution, survival, and consciousness. I wanted to capture the awe of films like Transformers, Pacific Rim, and Godzilla, while weaving in something deeper — a reflection on humanity’s relationship with power, technology, and nature. The project represents a world where technology and humanity coexist, until an ancient kaiju — the embodiment of chaos itself — reawakens. The real story, though, isn’t about monsters; it’s about the human spirit confronting something it cannot understand or control.

What it does

How we built it

Concept & Narration Scripted a voiceover inspired by Optimus Prime’s opening monologues. Defined emotional beats → tension arcs → thematic progression. Visual Design (Previs) Created 30+ MidJourney stills using consistent lighting, tone, and framing. Used SeedDance to build continuity between shots (multi-shot sequences). Animation & Cinematic Flow Imported stills into Kling and Veo3 for realistic camera motion: Crane shots, slow pans, zoom reveals, and POV tracking. Color-graded every clip for uniform tone — deep blues, storm golds, and metallic shadows. Score & Sound Design Composed in Suno AI using hybrid orchestral prompts: Added thunder SFX, heartbeat pulses, and cinematic bass to shape atmosphere. Post-Production Synced transitions to audio crescendos. Added title card: “ECLIPSE PROTOCOL” — textured, metallic, and illuminated by lightning.

Challenges we ran into

Visual Cohesion Combining imagery from multiple AI models required heavy tone-matching and post-color work. Solved this by designing a unified palette (storm blue, ember gold, gray steel). Narrative Clarity Too much lore early on made it confusing. I learned to imply — not explain — and let silence build intrigue. AI Realism vs. Artistic Abstraction Some shots leaned too digital; others too painterly. I found balance by blending grain, motion blur, and atmospheric particles. Rendering & Workflow Time High-res video generation across multiple tools meant constant adjustments. I built a step-by-step schedule to optimize prompts and reduce repetition.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

This project taught me the importance of emotional rhythm — that the viewer’s attention isn’t held by explosions or effects, but by contrast and pacing. The key wasn’t constant action, but the ebb and flow of suspense vs. silence. How to build a visual heartbeat: rise → hold → break → release. The power of subtle symbolism — how a single shot of a child, a reflection, or lightning can carry philosophical weight. Technically, I learned to unify multiple AI tools like SeedDance, Kling, Veo3, and NanoBanana into a seamless cinematic workflow — treating each one as a camera operator in a larger virtual studio.
