Inspiration
We wanted to share the feeling of knowing that someone else was there before us and feed the curiosity of what they could have possibly experienced.
What it does
Our Geo-based time capsule allows you to share, view, and find echoes of the past while leaving more for the future.
How we built it
Built with react-native, Github, AWS-s3, groq, and a desire to learn more!
Challenges we ran into
The project's development was divided into parts and assigned to team members—divide and conquer. As we researched solutions, too many people were working on the same problem or a problem that needed another developer's code. The second main issue was getting the backend to work and understanding its operating format. We also encountered problems with using the mobile device camera. This, paired with a merge branch conflict and react-native temperament, worked against a developer's laptop, leading to curve balls that caught us off guard.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have made a react-native app, the idea we came up with, and to have healthy communication when things got complicated.
What we learned
Backend development with Flask API, Postgres database, and AWS console. React-Native frontend development and navigations.
