Inspiration
We realized that data privacy is a HUGE topic nowadays, since individuals' data can be sold to third parties and displayed online, or used to train AI models without the user's permission.
What it does
EchoPriv scans privacy policies and lets users know how their personal information is collected and used, promoting transparency in the digital landscape. It also lets users know how to proceed with using web services carefully, in a way that won't compromise their personal data.
How we built it
We used Figma for the prototype and Canva for our presentation.
Challenges we ran into
It was hard to figure out the implementation of the prodcut(what data we need for training, and ethical concerns) since we decided to make a browser extension. Our team had never used Figma, so making a working prototype was tough, but with the help of the mentors we pulled through!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Just finishing :D. We spent most of our time ideating and figuring out the implementation of EchoPriv so we think this thing could be built into an actual product which is cool. Also, learning Figma for this hackathon.
What we learned
How to design an AI model and consider ethical consequences, we learned about data privacy and its stakeholders, and also how to use Figma.
