Inspiration

We wanted to build EchoMind AI to make everyday task management simpler and more convenient. People often forget important activities, deadlines, and reminders. This inspired us to create a personal assistant with a simple chat interface that helps users manage their daily activities.

What it does

EchoMind AI is a personal action assistant that provides an interactive chat interface and helps users manage tasks and reminders. Users can create tasks, save reminders, and view their saved information. The goal is to make everyday organization easier through a simple and user-friendly application.

How we built it

We built EchoMind AI using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, Python with FastAPI for the backend, and SQLite for storing tasks and reminders. The frontend communicates with backend API endpoints to create, retrieve, update, and delete information. We used FastAPI's interactive API documentation to test the backend functionality.

Challenges

One of our main challenges was connecting the frontend with the backend and ensuring that tasks and reminders were stored and retrieved correctly. We also worked on handling user messages, managing database records, and testing the different API endpoints. Debugging errors during development helped us understand how the different components work together.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to build a web application using frontend technologies, Python APIs, and a database. We gained practical experience with FastAPI, SQLite, API testing, and connecting different parts of a software system.

What's next

In the future, we plan to improve natural-language understanding, add more advanced AI capabilities, explore voice interaction, and develop reliable reminder notifications. We also aim to improve personalization and make EchoMind AI more useful for everyday activities.
