Inspiration

We were inspired by meditation apps’ calming, sensory feedback and wanted to bring that emotional, reflective experience to sustainability. Instead of guilt and spreadsheets, we asked: what if your eco-actions became a mini film and soundscape you’re proud to revisit?

What it does

EchoLog lets you upload quick photos/videos/voice notes of sustainable actions; AI auto-categorizes them (recycling, water, energy, transport, food, fashion, mindset), learns your patterns, and adapts gentle goals. Each month it generates a personalized audio-visual “footprint” plus a simple trend view, achievements, and shareable clips.

How we built it

We used Manus AI to outline the classification schema, behavior tracking, and adaptive recommendation logic, then produced example JSON and summaries. We prototyped a 5-screen mobile flow in Lovable (Add Entry → AI Tag → Dashboard → AV Summary → Achievements) with placeholder AV previews.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing emotional, non-judgmental feedback with meaningful impact signals was tricky, as was mapping categories to visuals/sounds that feel coherent. Practically, verifying real actions without surveillance and working within Lovable’s export/asset limits required smart mock data and clear storytelling.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

We turned sustainability tracking into a calm, creative ritual with an end-to-end prototype that clearly shows AI understanding, adaptation, and impact visualization. The monthly AV summary feels uniquely “yours,” and testers said it made their small wins feel real and worth continuing.

What we learned

Aesthetic, meditative feedback motivates better than raw numbers alone, and optional journaling lowers friction versus rigid logging. Clear prompts and data schemas let AI tools (Manus + Lovable) accelerate ideation while we focus on tone, ethics, and UX.

What’s next for EchoLog

Integrate on-device classification (image/audio) and lightweight generative AV APIs, plus privacy controls and campus partnerships for optional verified actions. Run a short study comparing AV-feedback vs. numeric dashboards on retention and behavior change, and expand templates for alarms/meditations and social shares.
