Inspiration

Our teammate’s personal experience as an acting translator in middle school, struggling to help her peers due to poor ESL curricula and North Carolina’s teacher shortage, inspired us to create a tool that provides better support for non-native English speakers.

What It Does

Dynamically adapts lessons based on student progress (e.g., daily lessons, analyzing comprehension).
Advances curriculum at the student’s pace, ensuring understanding.
Uses generative AI to provide text in selective languages.
Informs teachers of each student’s language level.
Creates a personalized learning experience unique to each user.

How We Built It

We developed our solution using Python, Flask, CSS, and HTML, focusing on addressing the shortcomings in ESL education and the specific needs of our community.
