Inspiration
Our goal was to create an an accessible healthcare app that tailored to users custom needs.
What it does
An AI-powered healthcare web app that allows users to enter voice messages and receive personalized health assistance and tailors responses based on each user's preexisting medical history, ensuring more relevant and informed guidance
How we built it
We used a React Frontend connected to a Flask backend. In the backend we utilized different packages to enable different functionality such as the tailored health analysis.
Challenges we ran into
Initially both of us had no idea how to create a webapp, or even what tech stack to choose. We also ran into numerous issues with encoding user information, connecting the front and backend, and finding which models to use for what task since we wanted the server to run on CPU.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud that we were able to implement the barebones of our application with very limited prior knowledge
What we learned
We learnt the basics of web application development, the basics of React and Flask, and all of the smaller technical issues when it comes to deploying these types of applications in practice.
What's next for EchoHealth
Initially we had plans for a live transcription feature. Additionally we also wanted to use a more conversational model so that the chatbot would be more user friendly. We plan to implement these features to further enhance user expereince.
