Inspiration

As deepfake technology and AI-generated voice scams become increasingly sophisticated, telling reality from fiction has grown into a major modern challenge. This inspired us to create "Echoes of Reality: The AI Paradox," a gripping text-based survival experience that tests a player's awareness against deceptive communications.

What it does

Echoes of Reality puts players in high-stakes survival scenarios where they receive urgent incoming calls and messages. Players must carefully analyze each interaction, manage their Sanity meter, and use a specialized "Truth Lens" to uncover anomalies and detect whether a voice call is a fake AI impersonation before it is too late. To make the experience globally accessible, we integrated a dynamic Google Translate widget supporting over 15 languages.

How we built it

The core game mechanics, interactive choices, and narrative flow were designed and structured using advanced Meta AI prompts, resulting in a streamlined, responsive HTML5 web experience.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing the Sanity meter mechanics with engaging storytelling and ensuring seamless real-time translation across multiple languages required careful prompt tuning and optimization.

What we learned

We gained deeper insights into leveraging AI prompts for rapid game prototyping and designing psychological tension through text-based choices.

What's next for Echoes of Reality

We plan to expand the narrative with branching storylines, add voice synthesis for incoming calls, and introduce more advanced investigation tools.
