Inspiration: Indian students find history boring. We were inspired to transform history from a dry subject into engaging, controversy-driven, short-form mysteries to promote critical thinking and relevance.
What it does: A mobile-first, gamified platform where users solve real historical controversies (e.g., ""The Textbook Wars"") like detectives. Features include a context-aware Detective AI tutor, leaderboards, and an NCERT-aligned 'Learn Mode'.
How we built it: Built rapidly on the Base44 platform using a detailed Mobile-First Build Prompt. We leveraged Base44's AI for core structure and integrated content manually, rigorously configuring the AI chatbot for context-awareness and neutrality.
Challenges: Maintaining neutrality on sensitive topics (solved via two-source verification) and ensuring the AI Chatbot was truly context-aware to give helpful, non-generic hints.
What we learned: Gamification is essential for educational engagement. The design must be inclusive (A11y features). Hooking students first with drama is more effective than teaching facts first.
What's next: Quarterly release of major new mysteries, adding a feature for users to build their own mysteries, and developing a Teacher/Parent Dashboard to track learning and progress.
