Inspiration
We were inspired by The Voidness
What it does
The player plays a note on their guitar, which then we identify using FFT on our computer, and then we map that note to a color using HSL color mapping from music to color, and it sends out a pulse of that color to the screen which reveals everything that is that color. Uses lots of signal processing techniques to extract guitar node
How we built it
We used godot for the game and python for some processing
Challenges we ran into
Collisions and movement - making them work took a lot of time
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Mapping color and getting guitar input into a game - its really intuitive and looks really nice which is really cool
What we learned
game design is hard but fun!
What's next for Echoes
design more levels and make levels more complex
