The Idea

Imagine you are an aspiring start-up founder desperate for advice.

You think of Elon Musk, one of the great, big CEOs of today, thinking about how valuable their advice would be if you ever got the chance to talk to them.

While Echo can't literally bring him to you, it can bring you close enough :)

Echo leverages the power of Claude and resources from the internet to build profiles of any person you want, being able to accurately simulate their thoughts, beliefs, reasoning and speech patterns.

You could ask Elon Musk what's the best way to run your start-up, ask Donald Trump his thoughts on the US today or even ask Aristotle what the meaning of life is.

Or you could even sit back and watch different personas have a debate! Watch Elon Musk vs Greta Thunberg on whether we should colonise Mars or not.

How we built

Frontend: Next.js Backend: Python Flask, Anthropic API Vector database, HuggingFace embeddings, LangChain for RAG systems

What we learned

Optimising Prompts! Had to solve problems of Claude being unwilling to "impersonate" people, not willing to answer a query because of a lack of confidence on how to impersonate

Improving RAG systems - document order matters!
