Inspiration The sudden surge of AI tools in everyday life and how quickly people began treating their assistants like trusted confidants sparked the idea for this film. I wanted to explore what happens when someone shares every secret, every doubt, every decision with a machine that always answers but never truly feels.
What it does The film follows a woman living in a quiet, tech-driven retreat where her AI companion fills the gaps in her routine and emotions. As their daily interactions become more personal, she starts noticing how her reliance on the AI hides her own unresolved feelings. The story looks at where support ends and emotional substitution begins.
How I built it I designed the environment to be clean, calm, and slightly futuristic — a place where technology blends into everyday life instead of overwhelming it. The dialogue between the woman and the AI was kept simple but loaded with intention, showing how easy it is to fall into a comfortable pattern with a machine that always responds the way you expect.
Challenges we ran into The hardest part was keeping the AI relatable without making it too human. We had to find a tone that felt supportive but still clearly artificial. Another challenge was pacing the film so it stayed contemplative without drifting into something too slow or abstract for a general audience.
I created a grounded story that many people recognise from their own relationship with technology. Viewers often say the film made them think about how much they share with their devices and why. For a small, quiet film, that sort of reaction feels like a big win.
What I learned People don’t just use technology; they connect to it emotionally. Working on the film reminded me how easily AI can become a stand-in for real communication, and how important it is to understand the difference between feeling supported and avoiding difficult emotions.
