We were inspired by the concept that crowds are driving technology traffic. In the realm of travel Uber, Lyft, and Car2Go have dominated markets for travel on the go. But for those who don't want to pay a large amount for a ride down the street, eCarmony is here to offer rides with fellow drivers all for the cost of just the gas it took you to get from A to B. The concept is that drivers can post when they are planning on departing toward a destination and they can allow other riders to join them on the ride. These riders are responsible for paying for their portion of the gas money, which also helps the driver get to their destination faster and more efficiently by using carpool lanes. There are huge communal, environmental, and social benefits to this application. Gas prices are determined by local gas stations in range. Riders pay by the gallon that they use on the ride, divided by the number of riders in the car. This creates a cheaper ride for not only the riders but the drivers as well. It will decrease traffic by decreasing the number of cars on the road, especially during rush hour traffic. The concept is driven by the idea that the rideshare or carpool is not for profit, but for both parties to pay less and help the environment at the same time.
