After years of crowded parking garages, steep climbs to campus and expensive rental options, it was timr for better self propulsion. Its an electric bike designed to prove the materials anyone can get are possible to assemble into a useful tool. We took on hand materials, scrapped motors, tool batteries, and scrapped bike in order to connect the power sources to the motor with testing for necessary power and design constraints. Non conforming materials caused multiple stalls in assembly as needed material dimensions were unavailable. After deconstruction of scrapped bike, sprocket attachments were non standard. Replacement chain separation was incapable of being done for lack of needed tools. Centering of gears on axil was difficult to align without specific tools. To solve alignment issues rotation arm and approximate drawings were used to align over paper and used to create attachment. Through the course of this we learned the necessary steps of creating detailed plans of how assembly is done, and look into all details to find where it can go wrong to be intentionally equipped for challenges. What's next is to turn attachment points into permanent anchors and add needed supports, apply more properly fitting hardware and enclose components for weather proofing.
