🌟 Inspiration

Navigating the EB1A green card process is overwhelming — even for highly qualified candidates. As a current EB1A applicant myself and a strategic program manager, I realized that the biggest barrier is not eligibility, but execution. Most talents don't know how to translate their story into USCIS-compliant documentation — and that’s exactly where AI can help.

💼 What It Does

EB1A Petition Master is an AI-powered app that transforms an individual’s achievements into a fully formatted EB1A petition package. It guides users step-by-step, asking the right questions, generating a CV, collecting exhibits, and drafting all necessary documents — including the petition letter, cover letter, and even I-140 form support — ready for submission to USCIS.

🧠 How We Built It

This initial version was developed using:

  • Custom GPTs built in ChatGPT (OpenAI)
  • Google Drive & Docs for content management
  • A front-facing Notion workspace (in progress)
  • Hosted on my own website (AiVassAcademy.com)
  • The app logic is currently being prototyped manually with a prompt-based system that will be automated post-hackathon using no-code tools like Make, Zapier, n8n and GPT-4 APIs.

🚧 Challenges

  • Mapping the complex legal structure of EB1A to a simplified user-friendly workflow
  • Designing prompt logic that feels conversational and personalized
  • Envisioning document automation that meets USCIS formatting standards

🏆 Accomplishments

  • Developed a working flow using ChatGPT with custom GPTs to create real petition drafts
  • Created multiple test outputs including recommendation letters and petition letters
  • Laid the groundwork for a scalable product that could support other visa categories

📚 What We Learned

  • Prompt design is an art — the better the question, the better the result.
  • Professionals need not just automation, but emotional and strategic clarity.
  • People are overwhelmed by legal language. Simplicity is the superpower.

🚀 What’s Next

  • Build the UI and backend in a no-code environment (Bubble or Glide)
  • Integrate document automation + secure file upload
  • Launch a limited beta with EB1A candidates
  • Expand to support EB2-NIW, O-1, and eventually legal consulting teams
