Inspiration

We are passionate about food security and enabling a healthy lifestyle. Three team members are on a special diet, so we empathize with the user’s pains. Also, food security is a huge concern, and one of the main sustainable development goals for 2030. We want to make this transaction a convenient one.

What does the product do?

No more running around to find ingredients of amazing recipes or counting your calories for each meal. We provide all in one solution, which presents amazing recipes according to your diet, and the ingredients of your favourite recipes are delivered to your doorstep, while we keep track of your nutrition.

Simply select your favourite recipes based on your diet plan, and your preference will help AI learn your taste to develop your meal plan. This will make your weekly grocery list while tracking all your nutrition count. Plan your whole month around amazing food.

How we built it

Cloud
• AWS free tier Ubuntu server as the host machine
• DuckDNS for the free DNS
• Backend hosted on AWS cloud

Backend
• Node.js as server, used with Express.js framework and JavaScript as programming language.
• Docker container with MongoDB as the NoSQL database

Frontend
• Vue.js as frontend framework

Challenges we ran into

The online presence is not the same as in person, but we found nice workarounds to it. Our next step is to find nice partners, who can collaborate to provide and deliver groceries to our consumers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have a modest proof of concept which we were able to develop in such a short time and the branding of our vision.

What we learned

Through research on the topic and technical difficulties made us reach out and ask for help. We got an over welling response and support to pursue the vision.

What's next for eatwiser - mindful food consumption

We are looking to enable local retailers by building a chain of partners. We welcome collaboration with retailers, delivery services, and wholesalers to craft out a pool of services to serve our consumers directly and contribute towards food security.

We offer our partners insights into consumer trends, demands, and help increase brand awareness, and increase in revenues.
