EatWhereBot

Inspiration

We were inspired by an issue commonly faced in our group, which was deciding where to meet and where to eat, since we did not stay very near each other.

What it does

Add the bot into an existing Telegram chat and run it. Send your locations and once done, the bot will calculate the most central location for everyone and give suggestions on what to eat.

I helped with the overall design and architecture and worked on the integration of the front end and Telegram Bot API. I also worked on the application's backend.

I worked on storing the location details of users and also the algorithm to find the central location between users. It is my utmost priority to make our app UI's user-friendly, so that users to use the app smoothly

I worked on incorporating the backend and frontend, by filtering the nearby food places based on the users preferences. Users can run the filter command to view select food places near their central location

I worked on the backend to search for nearby food places using Google Maps API. I also had to filter results based on the cuisines and dietary restrictions. Lastly, I also worked on the UI of the results of the food places that were found.
