Inspiration
We thought to build a dynamic solution that not only allows the regular order placement by customers, but also comes with order, restaurant and product management. Eatly is a product of the thought process of our team after deliberating on what problem to solve.
What it does
Eatly combines the power of dynamic order creation for. customers with a well-though-out backend for order, product and restaurant management. Combined with the power of Square payment and e-commerce solutions, Eatly proves to be a potentially industrial disrupting solution.
How we built it
The web app was built with React and deployed on Vercel, while the API was built with Nodejs with a MongoD database and leverages off infrastructure such as RabbitMQ for consistency and reliability.
Challenges we ran into
We had roughly 3 weeks to build this! We joined the Hackathon a bit later on. The biggest challenge was getting the right team together. Once we got the right combination, we were unstoppable!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built an API that's well structured and scalable! Using Domain Driven Development (DDD), we have a good architecture software-wise, making it easy to build things on top. Our design is also aesthetically pleasing and presents a potentially seamless experience for customers and merchants.
What we learned
We learned more about our technology of choice. We have team members who got better at React, integrating APIs (Square is a great platform) and setting up infrastructure in the case of RabbitMQ and MongoDB.
What's next for Eatly- A restaurant order management system
As a team we plan to keep working on Eatly. Hopefully we get enough motivation! We're excited about what Eatly could be!
