Inspiration

We were inspired by the theme Growth. We wanted to find a fun way to expand people's exploration down the path of becoming a food gourmet. With such endless possibilities for food, what more fun than to see everywhere your meals come from.

What it does

In a quick and simple click of the buttons, get an account that allows you to record down every city you've tasted food from and display it on a fun interactive map. Explore origins of your prior recorded food and peek into your friends' taste explorations.

How we built it

Running on pure coca cola and monster, we powered through Springboot and MySQL to create this masterpiece you see today.

Challenges we ran into

Git, git and more git. Also ThymeLeaf, but also git. On the brightside, we can probably recite bar to bar the steps to solve a merge conflict.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The fact I've powered through delirium, my team mates say our commitment and effort.

What we learned

The unfortunate dangers of being on main. Also how long a process takes and how powerful sitting down for a straight 24 hours and coding does.

What's next for Eat The Globe

Remake in different languages to really make it language friendly.
