Inspiration

Most nutrition apps ask you to count: calories, macros, streaks, plans. Abbey's Hunger Crushing Combo asks a kinder question: what could you add so this actually keeps you going? Protein, fibre and fat, two or more at a time. We wanted an app that answers that question in the moment, in real life, without taking anything away.

What it does

  • Build: type what you are about to eat, in your own words ("toast and jam", "a bag of crisps"). Fuller shows which of protein, fibre and fat it already has, and the one or two things many people add to make it last. Add them with a tap, or don't.
  • Fix my fridge: enter three things you have. Fuller finds combos that use them, or shows what they make together and what would round them out.
  • Combos: 64 satisfying combos, each with two or more of protein, fibre and fat (25 free, no timer, no limit), filtered by breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, sweet, savoury, no cooking and late night.
  • Saved and a week of ideas: keep combos and pin ideas to days, for when you are hungry and blank.

Nothing to count and nothing to log. No calories, no macros, no plan, no streak. Suggestions are phrased as what many people find helpful, never as what you should do.

How it makes money

  • No subscription, no ads. One purchase unlocks everything, and you pick the price: three non-consumables ($2.99, $5.99, $9.99) that all grant the same complete entitlement.
  • The purchase sheet is built from the current RevenueCat offering; purchase, restore and entitlement checks run through the RevenueCat SDK.
  • Three offerings hold the same prices in a different order (low, middle or high first). A RevenueCat Experiment is set up to test which default earns more per customer, measuring conversion and revenue, not just taps.
  • One purchase surface, opened only from a locked feature. No launch modal, no countdown.

How we built it

Capacitor 8, Vue 3 and TypeScript with the RevenueCat Capacitor SDK. Every food in the library is tagged by hand with which of the three it carries in a normal portion. The library ships inside the app: it works offline, with no account, no analytics and no server.

Challenges

Keeping the language compassionate and never prescriptive, and keeping the tagging coarse on purpose, so the app never implies precision it does not have.

What's next

More real-life situations (eating out, travel days), a web version with RevenueCat Web Billing, and Android.
