Inspiration
In a world where you can summon a ride or a meal with a single tap, booking a professional car wash still feels outdated. I realized that while we have "Uber for everything," the car care industry was lagging. I wanted to create a seamless, on-demand marketplace that brings the car wash directly to the user’s driveway.
What it does
Sparkle Wash is a two-sided marketplace.
For Washers: An entrepreneur platform where individuals can register, set their own hourly rates, and manage their availability.
For Users: A convenient booking system where they can find top-rated washers, book services at their home, and provide feedback through a rating system.
How we built it
The app was developed using Google AI Studio for rapid full-stack deployment, combined with Gemini Integration to power the user experience. We used React and Tailwind CSS for a responsive, mobile-first UI and JSON for structured data handling.
Gemini Integration
We integrated Gemini to act as a Smart Service Concierge. Gemini analyzes user requests to recommend the best wash type based on their car's description and helps "washers" optimize their profiles by suggesting competitive rates based on their skills and local demand.
Challenges we ran into
The most difficult hurdle was implementing the "Discovery" feature—connecting users with the nearest available washer in real-time. We overcame this by integrating location-based search and filtering logic to ensure that "on-demand" truly means "nearby."
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m proud of taking a vision I’ve had for a long time and turning it into a functional prototype. Seeing a user successfully find and book a washer in the interface was a major milestone.
What we learned
This project taught me the power of "modular thinking"—breaking a complex marketplace down into small, solvable chunks. I also learned how AI can bridge the gap between simple booking and a personalized user experience.
What's next for Sparkle Wash
The immediate next step is a native mobile launch and implementing a Gemini-powered photo analysis feature where users can upload a photo of their car and receive an instant price quote based on the car's dirtiness.
