Inspiration

We were inspired by teachers and professors not having the proper tools to set up online tutoring during covid-19. Also, as students we need the proper tools to get the best out of our education. Tutoring is very important to many students, therefore, we want it to be more accessible to students.

What it does

As of right now we have implemented websockets for a tutor and student can make a chat room for they can get the help that they need. Also, there is a student and teacher/tutor roles eventually they will have different privileges.

How we built it

We used django, html, css, and javascript.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges we ran into is learning a new framework with a programming language that we barely knew. Also, setting up the proper environment on everyone's computer lead to a delay in starting our project. Difficulty troubleshooting through online since we can not see what is another person's screen.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The skill set we learned throughout this hackathon will help us do better in future hackathons.

What we learned

We learned to plan ahead of time of what stack we will use on projects ahead of time.

What's next for EasyTutor

We plan to make it more accessible by adding different languages. Our goal is to deploy the application by the end of April 2020 with all the unique features.
