Inspiration: The frustration of booking travel and everything that comes along with it, e.g filing for expenses etc.
What it does
Automates the logistics of booking travel using slack and also provides suggestions based on your conversations
How we built it
Using slack botkit, we build the travel assitant that aggregates multiple launch partner APIs to provide an easy and seamless booking experience
Challenges we ran into
Some of the APIs are fairly new and lack documention as well as functionality as a consequence it was a challenge building a MVP that had the desired functionality. Also, slow internet!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
By typing in a total of 3 commands the user can book their entire trip including rides to and from the airport. As an added bonus for a business trip we take care of filing your expenses.
What we learned
Learned a new tech (node). Learned about all the different partner Apis.
What's next for Easyt
Improve the natural language processing, and user experience. Allowing user Configuration of travel options and support different travel APIs and Make it vendor agnostic. Build a dedicated app outside of slack.
