Inspiration
We were inspired via a personal experience: as an OOS student, flight fees throughout the year certainly add up! On top of that, the large amount of Ubers taken to common destinations could greatly be reduced via a service like EasyRide, benefitting the environment by reducing the cars on the road. As they say, think global, act local!
What it does
Users can find other users who plan on taking Ubers at similar times/locations.
How we built it
Built via the MERN stack.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a few challenges with Git and deprecated functions, but we were able to come together as a team and brainstorm solutions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of connecting our backend and our frontend!
What we learned
We learned a lot about what makes a web app tick.
What's next for EasyRide
We hope to ameliorate on the design of EasyRide and add potential login functionality. If one thing's for sure in life, it's the absolute nightmare that is taking an Uber from LAX to UCLA. EasyRide attempts to alleviate this issue by enabling Bruins to carpool through ridesharing.
