The problem

A media-import workflow may receive a Bilibili link, a Douyin post or a RedNote image post. Those platforms expose different media formats and URL patterns. Easydown gives developers a unified parsing endpoint for supported public posts.

What Easydown does

Easydown combines a free browser downloader with a paid developer API. The API parses public video and image posts across 11 platforms: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, RedNote (Xiaohongshu), Bilibili, Douyin, Threads, Kuaishou, Weibo and Toutiao. It returns normalized media data so a client application can handle supported links through a consistent integration.

A practical use case is importing a creator's own or licensed social content into a media-management tool. The application sends the public post URL to Easydown, handles the returned media information, and reports unsupported or failed requests to its user.

How to integrate

  1. Create an Easydown account and obtain an API token.
  2. Add API credits and follow the developer quick start.
  3. Send a supported public post URL with Bearer authentication.
  4. Process the normalized response and handle errors in your application.

One successful parse consumes one credit; failed parses are not charged. The browser downloader is free, while API access requires an account, token and credits. See API pricing and credits for current subscriptions and one-time credit packs.

How it is built

The web application uses Next.js, React and Tailwind CSS. Its browser interface and developer API serve different workflows: manual downloads and programmatic media parsing. This portfolio entry presents the existing product and its integration workflow.

Scope and integration considerations

The API supports individual public posts. Private, paid and DRM-protected content, profile-wide downloads, search results and live streams are outside its supported scope. Applications should validate URLs, handle parsing errors, and only reuse media they own or are authorized to use. Public availability alone does not grant reuse rights.

The project screenshot shows the free browser downloader. Developer API access and credit pricing are described separately above.
