Inspiration
Most SMS api's are quite difficult to wrap your head around. I wanted to create a simple API that made sending and receiving SMS super easy!
What it does
You can send an SMS to any phone number, as well as receive responses by entering one (or multiple) receiver numbers.
How I built it
Tried to build out the demo with Postman Mock servers, tests, examples, etc. The realy API would be based off of the Messagebird back end.
Challenges I ran into
Postman was really difficult to put in an API. I spent several days trying to figure out how to create an API schema, create examples, run a mock server, etc. It would have been easier just to build the app with node.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Trying to participate in a hackathon, even if I didn't get very far :)
What I learned
I learned a lot about SMS apis and some more about postman. I also came away with a better understanding of APIs in general!
What's next for EasySMS
I would like to build out an MVP so people could easily send SMS!
