Inspiration
My wife was using several apps to generate captions for her content. At some point, she told me how much she paid for one of them for a month, and I was like: “Can I take a look?” Then a humble little voice inside me whispered: “I can do better.”
What it does
Generates video captions and makes it easy to customize their style.
How I built it
The entire app was built from scratch using AI agents, including Codex.
Challenges I ran into
Sometimes, when I encountered bugs related to animation behavior, it was difficult to explain exactly what was going wrong because I could only attach static images. I also tried attaching a short video, but it appears that the agent harness converts videos into images.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud to have completed the entire journey, from the initial idea to launching the app on the App Store.
What I learned
I learned a great deal about AI-agent workflows, the nuances of launching an app on the App Store, and configuring Google AdMob. Most importantly, I proved to myself that it is possible to turn an idea into a real product.
