Inspiration

One of the key issues that arose during COVID was the inability of friend groups to engage or connect with one another. Unfortunately, this resulted in lower productivity. Often, friends tend to challenge each other and nearly everything they do can be fueled by some healthy competition. Keeping those factors in mind, we've devised a new method for increasing productivity by introducing the EASE app.

What it does

Users will have to create a to-do list of chores or homework that needs to be accomplished by the end of the day or week. Friends will also be required to do the same. Once they add each other, they can ping each other for tasks they have not completed yet. However, users will be limited to pinging one friend each hour. In order to earn money, the user can do one of the following things:

They must run a certain distance They can anonymously bet on whether someone will or will not do the task They can also watch adverts

With this in-game currency, friends can bet on certain things, and make their way up the leaderboard. They may also reset their ping timer if they accumulate enough money. They can also schedule a ping for the day. For an entire week, the top user will be at the top of the scoreboard and will get a crown as well as a golden name.

How we built it

We used Dart to program this app, as well as Flutter and Firebase for the database. We utilized Figma for the app design.

Challenges we ran into

Learning many new programs was one of the problems we faced. Despite the fact that it was a little challenging for us, we helped each other and it all worked out in the end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overall, we're proud of ourselves for learning new programs in such a short amount of time and producing an app that is promising and may be further developed in the future.

What we learned

We learned that teamwork is key. Initially, we decided to split up the work and focus on those specific components, but when we discussed certain aspects, it solidified our ideas further. We also learned that preparation for hackathons are important. This hackathon was some of our first hackathons, learning a few things ahead of time would contribute to a better project in the future.
