Inspiration
Human civilization is changing the natural world — shrinking habitats, shifting migration routes, and causing problems like birds hitting windows in cities. EarthScope aims to raise awareness of these issues by visualizing how our progress affects nature and encouraging people to pay attention to the challenges we create.
What it does
EarthScope provides a 3D interactive Earth viewer that allows users to explore historical and environmental data. By visualizing changes over time, users can gain insights into the impact of human development on nature and discover patterns that connect civilization and the environment.
Challenges we ran into
Collecting data was difficult — data sources were large, often in undesired formats, and sometimes restricted by limited access or permissions.
