Inspirations
We recognized that a lot of beaches, parks, and roads are not clean while other have absolutely no trash on them. So we decided to create Earth Rangers. Our mission is to inform our society of the pressing matter of ecosystems and what they can do to fix them. We hope to encourage more people to volunteer and talk about these problems to save the Earth and its ecosystems.
What it does
Our website takes a beach that someones submits that is not clean and posts it so others can come volunteer at the beach to earn reward and/or badges.
How we built it
We used CSS, HTML and JavaScipt to build this website.
Challenges we ran into
A challenge that I ran into creating was the google map API and the sign-up page.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of this website because I just started programming this summer and it was the first website that I built completely by myself. It was also my first time using an API.
What we learned
I learned what an API is and how to incorporate it into a website.
What's next for Earth Rangers
We would like to add and fix features such as creating a google form in the website using HTML and Js, getting the signup page working, adding prizes/badges and get sponsors, adding roads and parks that need to be cleaned up and add more resources and research.
