Inspiration

Over 900 million people live in the houses of rural India , Yet most of the crop advisory tools are for urban population , which are really challenging for a unprivileged person to use. Many students in rural India don't get a chance to understand their textbooks in the way of language they want. According to NFHS-5, 36% of women and 29% of men lack awareness about basic health indicators like vaccination schedules and disease prevention. This means they do not even know when it's right to visit a doctor or stay at home or what precautions to take.

70% of rural youth in India are unemployed and 40% of female rural youth lack awareness of livelihood opportunities available to them.Only 23.4% of Standard III students can read at Standard II level — meaning the knowledge gap is way more than we can imagine.

40% of women in India consider themselves not safe or unsafe — and two-thirds of harassment incidents go unreported, so the real number is far worse.

Farmer loan scams in India involve various methods, including individuals and companies fraudulently obtaining loans in the names of genuine or even deceased farmers, misusing government schemes, and cyber frauds targeting individuals. These schemes are widespread, with cases reported in multiple states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Manipur.

Lack of crop knowledge in India, driven by reliance on traditional methods, limited technical training, and poor access to research, causes significant 30-45% yield gaps and crop failures.

How we built it

For building, we had split our work from the start. I have to do the front-end and Dishank do the back-end.But he was very busy in the college, so at the end I had to help him in backend for doing all the four tools and the universal chat bot while he made the starting environment and the signing in method. We used the API key of Featherless AI As the AI brain of our app.We had to make two separate branches from the main, which were front-end and back-end, so there were no conflicts. But at the end of the day, it was all a little bit of mess and we had to correct it.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges were that we have to work in a sync while being miles away. To solve this problem, we had a Discord meeting at every morning so we can tell what progress we made and what we are going to do the next.Although it was my first time handling APIs and working with them, although I had did that before, but in a smaller scale. At one time, I realized that clock was ticking but our work was not up to date, so I had to rush to work several times. My team mate Dishank also faced a problem because he was busy in college and he has to maintain this hackathon in his college altogether.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of making this app because it can help several rural families to grow with technology and help them in their daily lives. This app is not multipurpose, but actually focused towards one single family who is having problems. The father of the family can often identify what crop disease is there, and their children can't understand their textbooks all by themselves, and teachers don't focus on a single child so much.

What we learned

We learned how to work in a sync and how to complete a project under a fixed time. I also got experience from this hakathon of how the process is and how many collective efforts it takes.

What's next for EARTH

If he had to launch it as a real app we would setup Llama servers across the rural areas so that API cost can be minimized and the app can stay free for everyone.
