Earth-Detox

Inspiration

Due to Covid-19, masks have become an essential item that people use to protect themselves from the virus. However, at the same time it leaves tremendous amount of carbon footprints and it takes about 450 years to decompose. Our team have notice that it is a big concern that not only can affect human life but also other living being especially marine animal. Because of that, we decided to build 2 prototypes that can help solve this problem.

What it does

Website: we provide information about the problem that we're facing in during this pandemic. We also mention about facts, how to recycle the mask, the impact it made, and how to properly disposal the contaminated mask.

App: it is our main tool that we use to connect to a wider range of audience with more visual and detail information.

How we built it

We use html, CSS, and JavaScript to build our website with resources from the internet. We use Figma to build our application prototype.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some challenges such as lack of information and some minor technical problem along the way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This hackathon was a period of intensity and restless night, our collective effort has transformed imagined ideas into prototypes and clearer picture of what we can do for our younger audience who want to participate in helping out the environement We're also proud of our strong communication that help us achieve the work the we have done.

What we learned

We learn about companies that take in used products and recycle it, especially with mask. We also how mask can impact the environment and living being. We are also aware of mask statistic with impressive number of use.

What's next for Earth-Detox

If we get a chance to receive a sponsor, we will be designing a working application which will have many more functions that can help inform and educate people in every ages. We will also start working on building the back end of our website.
