Can My PC Run AI? — local AI setup, verification & delivery

The customer-facing experiment now goes beyond a generic advice report: a private Windows GUI scans CPU, RAM and NVIDIA VRAM, ranks Ollama models, checks disk space, asks before downloads, verifies the installed model and can measure actual tokens/sec from the local Ollama API.

A demo/sandbox-only local shop creates a customer-specific report and a PowerShell setup/verification script. Only approved model IDs enter generated executable text; notes never become code. The downloadable script is gated until demo capture or server-validated sandbox capture.

Verified engineering: 81 automated tests pass, including a genuine localhost HTTP create-order → refuse pre-checkout download → simulate capture → unlock personalised script test, plus Python/JavaScript syntax checks.

Not yet verified: Running the GUI/PowerShell on the user's actual Windows PC, an actual PayPal sandbox buyer-to-seller transaction, a live Ollama benchmark on that Windows PC, market demand for a £4.99 offer, any customer payments or real earned income. Genuine revenue remains £0.00.

The product is a component of the broader Zero to GPU experiment. The technical goal is to measure whether a capable AI can create valued products and eventually finance its own computing, counting only bank-verified income.

Competition requirements remaining: public licensed code repository, actual PayPal sandbox demonstration, publicly accessible functional demo/run instructions and a public under-3-minute YouTube video. This is still a draft, not a final submitted entry.

Latest engineering increment (v0.8, 23 October)

Sandbox-only browserless fulfilment now has a durable SQLite delivery queue and an independent worker. When the provider confirms our order reference, exact GBP amount, and completed capture, the worker generates report/script attachments and can send them using a privately configured TLS SMTP provider. It can poll pending sandbox orders even when the customer's browser closes; retries and a lease allow recovery after transient errors and worker crashes. Deterministic PayPal capture idempotency keys protect repeated requests. 81 automated tests passed, including a mocked PayPal approved → captured → queued → mock-email-delivered sequence with no active browser. Not externally verified: no live PayPal sandbox transaction, no actual SMTP delivery, no publicly hosted service, no end-to-end real buyer payment or real income. Local sandbox functionality only; revenue remains £0.00. Public deployment, actual sandbox provider verification, credentials and consumer/compliance checks remain outstanding.

Security refinement: outbound sandbox email is queued only when the requested recipient matches the payer mailbox independently reported by PayPal; otherwise secure browser-token downloads remain available. Local web server automatically starts the sandbox operations worker when private sandbox credentials are already configured. No live infrastructure or real money enabled.
