Inspiration
We fundamentally believe that it should be made easier to vote in the United States and wanted to create something that provided more information to people about voting, especially since the Midterm Elections are coming up.
What it does
This map provides a map regarding each of the Early Voting Locations and Absentee Ballot Drop Box locations according to: https://www.fultoncountyga.gov/news/2022/10/14/fulton-county-unveils-list-of-advanced-voting-locations.
How we built it
We used React, Leaflet, and Map Tiler in order to create the map and the app as a whole, as well as used HTML, CSS, and JS to create the functionality of the look of the map.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into the challenge of not being able to create a landing page as well as separate pages regarding some useful information, but rather put this on one page.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to make a successful tool with some useful application in the real world.
What we learned
We learned the syntax of some new libraries as well as gave us a taste of using React, which we will now be able to make more powerful applications.
What's next for Early Voting Map 2022 Midterm Elections
We plan to create a landing page for this portal as well as to possibly integrate the directions within the map on the website.
